Kempt Tower, also known as Saint Ouen No. 2 and La Grôsse Tou in Jérrsiais, is a Martello Tower and was built in1834 as a defensive tower against possible French invasion. Constructed with Jersey granite, the ground floor was used to store weapons and ammunition whilst the upper floor housed ten troops and their commanding officer.
