Fuji F30 gallery

This gallery will contain images taken with a pocket camera, in this case Fuji F30. Most of the images are unplanned, unsetup, quick snapshots that happen while moving around with a camera in your pocket - i.e. "walkaround" photos.

great "everyday" shots. i love your snapshots, and i am doing exactly the same with my recently bought f20, but til now i haven't been much farther than to the nearby forest with my dogs.

Wonderful gallery and I really appreciate the f30 review. I am a photographer by profession shooting with the Canon 5d but this little camera ( fuji f30 ) amazes me everyday.

Hi, Jon.All of the images (and just about all images that I ever place in my galleries) have been edited on a computer, some more, some less. Most visible post processing treatmens that I do are just contrast adjustments with levels / curves. My posrt processing work flow is described here:http://www.pbase.com/arn/fuji_f30#A11

Hi Arn, I am thinking of getting a Fuji F30 as a pocket camera when I don't want to lug around my SLR. Do you think I should save a $100 and get a F20 instead which means no AV or TV modes, a weaker LCD and a limit of ISO2000?? Oh yeah, thanks for the informative article on F30. Cheers, Zane

Guest, the shots are handheld, I almost never use flash. I shoot either in P or A priority. Mastering a correct way of holding the camera and squeezing the shutter helps.It can also help to use immobile objects to steady yourself - trees, walls, rocks, etc. Small cameras shake more easily when taking the pic than big SLR cameras. Program (2) apparently means just the program mode.

hi arn,

are most of your shots handheld coz they sure look pretty sharp to me without firing flash. Can't get a decent one for myself without flash. Also, which settings do you most often use, P, A, S or M?. What does Program (2) mean in Exposure Program?. great gallery!!!

Yes, now I see what you mean. For some reason PBase shows White balance (-1) for that image, but I've used Auto white balance for ALL of the images so far displayed (latest image at the moment is the b&w image "glass and shadows")

Vampire webmaster, that would be just a name for a different White Balance (color temperature) setting, but I don't know what image you are referring to.
