One of my best friends is the grandson of ian fraser jones. This is really cool because he was the first to own this car!!

i was the private mechanical of this car 550 number 140 from 1981 to 1985,
we did a lot of hillclimb races at that time,
i still have the old original rear trailing arms of the car that were damaged in 1982, they are now repaired and can be a interesting part for the owner to buy it.
If i can be contacted by the present owner,
i'm still located in Verona.

Hi Steve, i will scan the pictures i took and will send it to you.
Yes, i saw the chassis number through the rear grill and it was the original one, i also saw the chassis plate riveted Inside the car and it was the correct one but complete dark like if this part of the car burned.
It will nice to contact the new owner of the car, he will be happy to buy the old owner book !!
Regarding the engine / gearbox number, i didn't saw them because the rear hood was close.

Did you perhaps get to see and confirm the chassis plate and or engine/ gearbox numbers on the car in France, as the original Owners Book from the car still exists in Johannesburg, South Africa with all that original detail still available? The car looks amazing and in fantastic shape.

I saw in 1968 a 906 that burned in Germany, 1 months later the car was repaired and race again with the same driver

Now I am confused. The legend has it that this car, 550A-140 and 1500RS was buried somewhere underneath a building in Randburg many years ago.

Is this possible that the same car now resides in Italy and belongs to a Mr. Malatesta?
Has anybody seen the chassis plate on the par pictured in this blog in 2015?
