Michelle and I decided to head up to the S-Tree and White Oak Creek sections of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Jackson and Rockcastle Counties Sunday morning. We had a great warbler day and located Hooded, Cerulean, Yellow-throated, Ovenbird, Black-and-white, Redstart, Blue-winged, Yellow-breasted Chat, Prairie and Kentucky Warblers. We also found our FOS White-eyed, Red-eyed, and Yellow-throated Vireos. A pair of Scarlet Tanagers were found along one of the forest service roads. We also found several flowers that we could not identify - any help would be appreciated. Even though it remained cold and overcast the entire day, we still had a great day of birding and located several new areas we plan on heading back to again.
