Wasp Olympics (Food Wrestling)

A popular game once the pears in our yard are ready - foodball wrestling! A hornet makes the ball (notice the referee in black watching!) and tosses it down to the wasps who try to take it home... But they have to tackle the ball first! It's really hard to get a foodball under control when you're slightly drunk from not really that fresh anymore fruit. :-)

Oh yeah, these were all done with the 10D, the Tamron 90/2.8 and flash (420EX and Omnibounce)!

So, there's the food...	What a start!	Rolling it into a ball...	"Aaarrgh"
And rolling...	Have to get a grip...	Almost there...	Got it! We have a winner!

Thank you all for your nice comments, I'm stunned. :-) Michael: Ich habe das Tamron 90/2.8 für diese Aufnahmen verwendet, zusammen mit der 10D und einem 420EX mit Omnibounce direkt im Blitzschuh. Ist ein tolles Objektiv, wenn Insekten gerade anderweitig beschäftigt sind.

Hallo Antje, Deine Bilder sind der schlagende Beweis dafür, dass Makrophotographie einen völlig neuen Blick auf unsere putzigen (wenn auch hin und wieder auch lästigen) Erdenmitbewohner eröffnet.
