Actually Anne, while in the lady bug (beetle) family, this one eats plants. This is the squash beetle (not the squash bug), Epilachna borealis. I note he is feeding on a squash leaf, probably yours! The other leaf-feeding coccinellid is the Mexican bean beetle. BTY, really great shot! v
