Another milestone for me in photography – received the international AFIAP distinction award. Such a wonderful Christmas gift!
The Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique (or International Federation of Photgraphic Art) is an international body made up of photographic federations and associations on five continents.
The FIAP is an international federation which affiliates as operational members, the national associations of photography.
FIAP counts more than 85 national associations in the five continents and represents the benefits of nearly one million individual photographers.
In order to honour eminent personalities known in the field of photography, the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) has created a few distinctions including the Artist FIAP (AFIAP):
The distinction is awarded for photographic artists known for their artistic work. The final decision whether or not a FIAP distinction is awarded rest with FIAP.
Applications for distinctions are examined by a commission consisting of members of the FIAP Directory Board or of eminent personalities designated by the FIAP Directory Board.
Decisions are taken without appeal and by simple majority. All FIAP distinctions are awarded for life. Holders of a distinction are allowed to append after
their names the initials corresponding to the distinction(s) they hold.
