Lingonberries are almost ready for picking.

Lingonberries contain a significant amount of vitamin E. They have the lowest level of vitamin C of all the wild berries, however.
The lingonberry is rich in manganese and is also a good source of fibre.
Sautéed reindeer is perhaps the best known traditional meal from Lapland and it's always served with mashed potatoes and raw lingonberries preserves.

Beautiful image Anitta, I remember so well the delicious meal of reindeer & mashed potatoes with ligonberries that I had while in Finland! Have some growing here in NH.

fine shot, so natural scene, and the red berries stand out well...in Canada ikea sells lingonberry preserves in jars, a good substitute for cranberry sauce with roast turkey..
