****What makes this image work so well, Jen, is the incongruous relationship between the bike and the person. It is distanced from her, waiting for her to mount it and speed away. Yet she is not going anywhere at the moment!
On top of this incongruity, you have created another incongruity by abstracting her in this way. Instead of having a head, she shows only a large book or papers to the world. She is either greatly engrossed in what she is reading, or perhaps she is shy and does not want her picture taken. But you took it anyway, and in the process created a very expressive image.
