Stolen but found Parthenope and Metiochus ( Metiokhos )

The Romeo and Juliet of the ancient world. This section was stolen from the main piece at Zeugma,
spotted later at Rice U., Texas, returned to Gaziantep June 2000 and eventually the
full mosaic restored

What a nice find that ceramic piece must be! Glad you found this page if it helps.
Unfortunately, Gaziantep is currently in the danger zone for visitors due to terrorist activity.
Glad we were able to see it back in 2004, and we were lucky at the time to get in at the last minute.

I I have just purchased a lovely piece of ceramic,wasn't sure what the picture on this meant but the words zeugma belkis was on this,lovely when I went on line and found out
