They DO make chessboards there, but I must say that
these would have been for a gigantic one! They were
showcased as separate pieces. At M. Campbell's
EXCELLENT and more detailed version of this trip ,
you'll see this shot being taken .

Also, I found that small-camera flash generally doesn't work as well,
leaving huge glares, so I used no flash with a 1/10th sec exposure here.
