This is the site of Panmunjeom village, from which the JSA takes its name. It's about 1.5km away, in what is now the North Korean part of the DMZ. The village was basically destroyed during the war but the building where the Korean Armistice was signed remains. The large building was built subsequently and is the North Korean war museum (known as the Peace Museum).
This photo was taken from Check Point 5 in the JSA. To the left (out of view) is the Bridge of No Return.
