MP at Check Point 5

This guy jumped on our bus, stood at the front and watched us the whole time we were in the DMZ. A friendly enough looking bloke but he never spoke. I wonder what he would have done if I'd made a run for North Korea. In the background is the North Korean side of the DMZ.

The rank on his cap indicates he is a Sangbyong, the equivalent of a Corporal, and the Hangeul characters on his arm-band are pronounced "Hun Byong" - Korean for "Military Police". Note also the diamond-shaped United Nations JSA (Joint Security Area) badge, which is also worn on the epaulettes.
