Yellow and Purple

USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum

Yellow is for fire retardant foam and purple for jet fuel.

Yellow is for OIL, needed by the ship to fire up its boilers. Purple is for FUEL, needed by the airwing. Mixing them up would be disastrous. Color-coding minimizes mistakes since most pipings and valves are similarly constructed.
