Santa Fe Depot
The Railroad Station in Downtown San Diego
Completed in 1915 and more or less unchanged inside and out since then.
This is due to the fact that this is the southern terminus for railroads in the Western U.S. There is only one track here which heads north to Los Angeles.
Train travel is not popular because the "Amtrak Surfliner" is slower than driving to Los Angeles, and the train stops nine times along the way, a distance of only 120 miles.
