Goodbye

Last image from the Festival of Sail

It may be goodbye for me from PBase soon. Traffic on my site is down about 80% and most of my friends have moved on.
There is virtually no customer service and there have been no innovations to speak of since I started here in February 2006.
The S&T Competition and the Monthly challenges are shadows of what they used to be, and the weekly challenge no longer exists.
I will continue here until the end of the year when I will have completed ten years of a photo a day without missing a day. After that things are uncertain.
I have put a lot of time and effort into my PBase site and looking at your images and commenting on them, but I have a feeling my days here may be numbered.

I hope you don’t leave Walter. You are one of the best on Pbase! I can understand your feelings though and have thought of doing the same. I get more exposure for free on Facebook and Instagram. The Pbase interface is very clunky and needs to be updated.

I have the same issues but just signed on for another year. So many have left. I hope you decide to stay.
Your work is amazing such as this image that has such a cinematic feeling

Sorry if you decide to leave us Walter.
Sure you will find plenty to keep you busy with the Pacific Photographic Society. That must be a full time job.
Kind Regards .......... Ken

I would be sorry to see you go. But I get what you're saying. Great capture of these trio watching the ships. V.

I have always enjoyed your photography and want to thank you for your appreciated postings.
I feel with you about the stagnation of PBase. Easy earned money! Raf

Oh no Walter! Please stay! Your photography is very inspiring for me. I know P-base is not perfect at all but is there a better alternative? If you go let us know where you go! Hope you will reconsider your decision!
By the way: An appropriate image! V

I know the feeling from time to time, just go somewhere, see new horizons for a while, see and do something to spark your curiosity ... let the winds blow your sails ... and you'll be good as new. Make sure we have links to follow-up

We would all miss you, you have been a great inspiration to me.
Let us know where you are moving to.

I have come to look forward to your excellent photographs each day, as they are always top notch and appealing. The varied subjects are always thoughtfully presented, some thing to learn from. Personally, I have tried other photo sites and find them wanting in various ways. I hope you reconsider and stay with us. Recently I have been present irregularly because of moving and then getting sick. But I have still tried to check out your latest contributions. They are appreciated!

so sorry to learn this Walter...your images and general participation on pbase have been exemplary over the years, so if you leave the site it will be a big loss for your many online friends...hopefully your future photo endeavours prove rewarding to you...best wishes..

What a sad new !!!
I really hope you will change your mind. I agree with a lot of things you are thinking about PBase, but it is really a pleasure to watch your images day after day and will really miss them...
