October 3

View from Mount Soledad looking north

La Jolla can be seen in the foreground with Scripps Pier the site of my recent Night Sparks photos.
Further north are Torrey Pines State Beach, Del Mar, San Elijo State Beach, Encinitas and Carlsbad.
The tiny white tower in the distance is a power plant in Carlsbad about 22 miles away and the brush fire burning on Camp Pendleton is about 30 miles away.
With the Santa Ana Conditions I thought it would be clearer. Views in excess of sixty miles are possible on clear days. Then the Channel Islands can be seen as well as the San Bernadino Mountains.
At the time I took the photo at 10:30AM the temperature was 95F / 35C on top of the mountain.

the lay of the land is so evident, especially with your caption info..35C seems toasty...here we are roasting, well almost, at a whopping 16C, a bit above average for October..
