New Shoes

Once a month a Thoroughbred Horse needs new shoes.
Some shoes are made of lightweight aluminum, so the horses can run faster.
The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association lists at least thirteen different types of shoes that can be used.
Shoeing Racehorses is a very specialized and hard job that requires extensive knowledge and skill.

It's a tough job, even taking care of quarter horses. They get kicked, spat on, and being bent over... ugh. You have to appreciate people who are that dedicated to a profession. Really nice shot today, love those long thoroughbred legs! V

Neat shot, Walter. I worked for an equine veterinarian when I was in college and I decided that being a farrier jas got to be one of the toughest physical jobs there is.
