Built 1540, the house received its name because the Mollenhauer Music Company occupied it from 1822-1994.
The coat of arms on the left indicates the house was occupied by Damian Hartard zu Hattstein auf Muenzenburg in 1719.
And on the right is the coat of arms of Christoph Friedrich Freiherr von und zu der Thann from 1756.
Both were high officials at the Court of the Prince Abbott of Fulda.
