Mission San Diego de Alcala.
First of the 21 missions and known as the Mother of the Missions, was founded on July 16, 1769 by Father Junipero Serra.
It was designated as a Minor Basilica in 1976 by Pope Paul VI. The Mission today is an active Catholic Parish in the Diocese of San Diego.

Cracking exposure control Walter, and a beautiful contrast between the white-washed walls and the deep blue of the summer sky. The PoV suggests a dominance of the mission over its locale......the potted plants offer a nice foreground subject, too. V.
