Each Inca King built a city. The city would become their mausoleum. Pachacutec the 9th Inca king built Machu Picchu. The site was chosen for a reason, and this is reflected in the architecture. When you enter the main gate what do you see? You see Wayna Picchu framed. This was a symbolic of the strength of Pachacutec.
