LOOKING DOWN THE CAUSEWAY

Horsham - West Sussex

On The Causeway ...the tranquil, little altered street lined with ancient houses that leads to the church of St. Mary. For pedestrians, it connects the Carfax and the town hall in Market Square with the parish church and beyond, where footpaths, known locally as 'twittens', provide links to The Forum and the Bishopric area.It is densely packed with peaceful and prosperous buildings of historic interest, parts of which date back more than 600 years, most of them listed by English Heritage. Pollarded limes and chestnuts line the pavement's edge.
