Quote of the day: "Fancy coming to London!"

Well I guess that most of you know by now I had the pleasure of staying with a couple of "cyber friends" over the Bank Holiday weekend. And the dogs I referred to yesterday's posting were Archie and Rosie no less!

Several of my analogue world friends couldn't believe I was going to travel some 160 odd miles to stay with a couple that I'd never met nor even spoke to before and were aghast to think I'd be spending the whole weekend with them having only made conversational contact through the facility of Pbase. One friend was convinced she'd never see me again and that I'd be locked away in their dungeon like the lorry driver from the Carlsberg advert!!... Nothing could be further from the truth.

On Saturday we drove into the very centre of London and parked within 200M of the London Eye, something mere lesser mortals (me included) from Lincolnshire wouldn't dream of doing, we'd probably park at the Watford Gap and hitch a ride on public transport!

I'll be posting more pictures from the weekend when I've caught up with some of the outstanding chores here at Chappell Towers and replaced the very hot and whining hard drive in my PC!

"Cyber friends"?? Nah... Old mates more like!

Didn't I read somewhere that the double decker buses of London are on the way out?
Guest 04-May-2004 20:03
Bet you were waiting at the stop and the driver would spot you weren't a 'southener' and so he'd keep going eh? ;)) Nicely done Ian
