Lillies on Speed

We always try to have fresh flowers in the kitchen of all places but that's what we like and that's what we do! This particular bunch of lillies was almost crying out to have it's photograph taken as they were just so perfect. Unfortunately, the colander and the MG from yesterday took precedent over the flowers which was a shame really because by the time I looked them this morning they weren't looking their best but I just had to take a shot of them.

I was looking for something with a different angle for today's PotD and came up with this. What do you think, did I do the fading lillies justice or should they have gone straight in the bin??

PS for Angela and anyone that's interested... This effect was all done in camera by zooming out during exposure. Totally as it came off the card with just a little adjustment to levels and saturation and of course the framing.

There is just something about a vase of fresh flowers in a house. It seems to convey the message to all who visit........ "We have water". I enjoy your unique work Ian.

Cool. You should never put dead flowers in the bin until they've well and truly been photographed;-)

I like it - reminds me of painting bright colours on a sheet of paper and then folding it in half and opening it out to make a butterfly!! Know what I mean?!
