Must make correction on previous post. The hotel in front of the church is the Aspelias Hotel. We used to swim on this stretch of beach. Here I can see the homes of the Ioannidis family,Mousoupetros families, etc. The crane is still standing like yesterday I remember. We all hid in the basement car park of the flats that were behind the Golden Marianna, during the bombings.I saw the Aspelias get hit during the day.My brother and neighbour were with me at the top of the Marianna,we could see all the shooting crystal clear from there. The afternoon was lit like a christmas tree;we were very close to all the fighting. The Marianna was used as a tourist collection & evacuation point by the UN and the English .We took shelter here until all tourists were evacuated and the soldiers had gone.At this point all got truelly ugly . The Marianna got hit at the rear and all the gas cylinders were on fire and exploding,we were25 meters away, but protected in the basement car park. The fire brigade arrived quickly. My uncle was one of the firemen who volunteered for this mission. He came to check on us.Everyone was paniced and scared.

We lived here;the house with the two second story windows next to the palm, to the rear middle of photo. The white hotel was the Golden Marianna. The hotel in the right hand front corner was the Apollonia Towers .Behind that is the church (Ayia Triatha )we visited as children ,most sundays. Where has all the time gone.
