Foam attack

Southern Highlands, NSW, Australia

Taken during the bushfire emergency on 22 October 2013 this image shows how bush fire fighting foam can be used to put out and retard re ignition of fallen trees which can smoulder for days after a bushfire. It is important ensure such fallen trees do not re ignite in strong winds.

The firefighter pictured here is from the Exeter Brigade of the Rural Fire Service.

A stark image of your present troubles.
May the temperature fall, and the winds dissipate before they can add to your woes.
Thinking about all of you and especially the Rural Fire Service.
