Abdi arrived as a refugee from Ethiopia in 2007. He is part of a family of 11 who live in two small rooms in Nairobi: a shopfront and a bedroom. Abdi's brother-in-law Fuad Ali (next photo) is disabled and so Abdi is responsible for supporting the whole family.
Abdi sells general groceries: "enough [money] for daily bread". In October Abdi received an eviction notice, after 5 years in this home. By the end of November he needs to find a new home and premises.
The ringtone on Abdi's mobile phone is Jingle Bells.
