Dachau Entry Gate

Dachau, Germany view map

The reason I don't go to Germany more often is because in between all the fun great stuff like beer, sausages, castles, beer, Bavaria, sausages, beer, Rhine River cruises and beer, there's this shit.

And it pisses me off.

Dachau is both a town near Munich and a KZ (concentration camp). This is the entry gate to Dachau the KZ. I think everyone knows what this means in English, but in case you don't, it says "Work will set you free" (roughly/idiomatically). With the exception of a few inmates early in its operation, no one was ever freed, no matter how hard they worked, unless you count dying like a dog being set free.
