The House of Stone Carpets (Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra) is an excavated Imperial Roman house with about 2000 sq ft of incredibly preserved floor mosaics. The Ravennese archaeologists excavated the site and then put a steel columned roof over it and put the dirt back on top. You enter through a decommissioned church, walk a few steps down and into the house.
This image includes a quite beautiful "Dance of the Seasons" picture in the center of the floor.
