The Great Rift Valley Lakes

Africa's Great Rift Valley is a 6,000-mile crack (fissure) in the earth's crust, stretching from Lebanon, through to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and into Mozambique.
Major geological upheavals caused a series of lakes in Kenya, some of which (Turkana, Naivasha and Baringo) are freshwater, but the others (Nakuru amongst them) are soda lakes. Millions of flamingos grace the soda lakes each year. Two Volcanic Mountains can also be seen in the Rift Valley, Mount Kenya and Mount Longonot.
