Paying Taxes

Usually these gov. departments are butt ugly, crowded, and
well, a lot of other not so recomended adjectives, but
like a little island here stands one of the cosiest tax
paying dep. that I've seen.
The worth noting details are plenty and I shall number a few:

1. It has a wheelchair access!! Well... in Portugal people tend to forget
that not all of us can climb stairs. Actually... they also forgot it in this
building, but managed to instal a really cool collapsing platform when someone
needs to use it :)

2. It has a charming decoration! Complete with sofas and those fake plants the kind
that you spend minutes on end trying to figure out if they are real or not
and you are only sure when you manage to pull a leaf when no one's looking,
you know the kind? Yes! it's one of those :)

3. It has amazing natural light! With gigantic windows covered top to bottom
with venetian blinds, that still let us see that man outside peeking in his nose.
No one is ever bored in there :)

4. It had the beautiest floor tiles I've seen! I mean in a place like that at least.
If someone begs me for it, I will upload a photo of them... Well.. I think I will
upload even if no one begs me, but they are cool, tiny, shinny and create such an impressive
3D effect that I've seen people sitting down on the sofas missing their turn, because
they were totally hypnotised by that floor. Well... ok! they had just fallen asleep, but
the hypnotising part is far more alluring :)

5. It has charming automatic doors! And those doors have quite a sense of humour
too, because they don't open imediately when people stand in front of them,
but take their time, just savouring they puzzled looks of those trying to get in
and of course giving us all inside some more free entretainment :)

6. It's such a cool place to make photos! Ok! even if you don't believe me,
I swear that the place would be perfect for a modelling session. I've asked
there if I could use it to make a model session and everyone looked at me
like I had escaped from the mental Hospital and well... people just started
walking out of there. Hey guys! I am not such a lousy photographer, or am I??
Well... I guess that this way it won't be long before it's my turn :)

...Beeep...30...31...32.........where did everybody go?....Beep...39
...40...............Beep...44! Ooops!! That's my number :))

(For those who've wondered why I haven't been around checking their photos
like I used to... well... I am really sorry, but I have been really busy this month
and I just don't have enough time. Sorry guys)

Ana, some seriously good tonal range, composition and exposure... well done. I love the way you have made the mundane a thing of interest. KMc

Back to this one, Ana. I'm fascinated by the silver-like light...

You and I sinking into leather oceans like jellyfish spooned into a lapping wave.Into the hushed depths where the light filters like dangled strings. And hidden words bubbled ever so quietly.

LOL! An interesting concept. I assume this office is actually funded by your taxes right? So you have a right to use it any way...you are paying for it...just book a time slot. By the way, you should look in to if you are paying too much taxes...someone has too much to spend. For a cost effective tax office, visit a British one ;-) K

Beautiful photo Ana. You know how I like your use of light, here is not an exception... And sorry for saying always the same thing!
Don't worry for the commenting. Do it when you have time and when it's pleasant, otherwise, it becomes fast a burden.

Love your description that to me is really more like a story. I like the image too. Love the blinds, but still providing a peek outside. Thanks for sharing our great writing.--Rene

Dark and safe inside, it feels that way to me. Sitting in silence, knowing the city awaits.

The chirpy catch-phrase of the UK Inland Revenue is "Tax needn't be taxing!". Like singing cheerful songs as the Titanic goes down...

Very funny observations, Ana. I might just beg for that photo of the floor anyway, just to be nice. :)
