A meadow at Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve

Administered by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and managed
by the California Department of Fish and Game, this 1400-acre reserve is the largest
tract of tidal salt marsh in California outside of San Francisco Bay.
(Slough, by the way, is pronounced, "slew.")
