After leaving the diamond business, my father became a textile salesman, representing textile mills to customers in Chicago and parts of the midwest (including southern Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana). This photo - part of the first roll of slides I took with my new Argus C-3 - was taken at the annual textile trade show in Chicago (at the Palmer House, I think), where my father (with help from my mother) exhibited his firms' wares. Highlight of the exhibit was a display of the new synthetic wonder fabric, Acrilan.
