Our navigation was perfect and on the second day we spotted the light on Bramble Cay. You can see the breaking surf on the reefs and that the light is just barely visible. A few weeks before we came through, a Dutch couple, Claes and Welmoed Honig on their steel twin bilge keel boat, Rik, could not get a sight because it was overcast and unfortunately they hit the reef and did considerable damage to one of their keels. Fortunately they were able to limp into Daru on the south coast of New Guinea and get their keel fixed
