In image M002 I said that trains weren't an option to Courmayeur. I stand by that. I didn't say that there weren't any into Valle d'Aosta, for clearly this is a railway station. However to get here you generally need to switch trains at least once and you're still a 40 minute drive from your destination.
To recap our Flixbus timetable:
- Due to depart from Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 131 Torino at 07:25.
- Due to stop for 10 minutes just outside the Aosta train station at 08:55.
- Due to arrive in Courmayeur at 09:45.
So what's the time stamp on this image? 09:48, 43 minutes after we were due to have departed Aosta for the last leg of the trip. And this, boys and girls, is why I wanted to depart as early in the morning as possible. (As if I had a choice with only 1 or 2 services per day.) Our time on the mountain was burning in the Flixbus' exhaust pipe.
It may not look it from these buildings but there are a lot of interesting buildings (such as castles) scattered around this area. I wouldn't mind heading back some day.
