This is an example of what I was saying in an earlier image about having no clear idea about what was going on before the match. I couldn't clearly identify who was coming out onto the field from way over the other side of it, since unlike the Olympus I don't have an effective 300 mm of zoom in my eyes. I thought that it might be the A.S. Roma manager Daniele De Rossi leading his team out.
But wait, that's not De Rossi. It's... it's... Francesco Checcucci, the match analyst followed by assistant coach Guillermo Giacomazzi (uh, since when does a match analyst out rank the assistant manager?), and on the left another guy who has been driving me nuts because I cannot for the life of me work out who it is. The initials on his uniform are "EM", but I can't find any A.S. Roma staff with those initials.
Also, it's not the team behind, but a bunch of kids in AC Milan uniforms. (In Serie A there is tradition of each team leading out a group of children, commonly from the opposite team's youth program, who stand with them during the opening ceremony. However the key ingredient that went missing for such a routine is a team. Or two.)
So I leave it to your imagination to figure out what in the hell is actually happening here.
