If you have looked through this entire gallery in sequence then (a) You are part of a very small and select group and (b) you're probably sick to death of seeing the Umbrian countryside. Indulge me with just a couple more, for this one addresses a question that you (and very few others) would have seen in image 2007.
Back then, I knew that I had turned rather than moved to take a picture but had no idea which WAY I turned. I suspected it was to the right.
And sure enough. In this shot we see the farmhouse, which was way over to the left in image 2007, about 3/4 of the way to the right in this image. To the left of it we can see the frazione of Santa Maria degli Angeli and its basilica, which was in the image 2005/2006 panoramic shot. The mystery, such as it was, is solved.
As of this shot, I was back in the car park, had probably already bought my €12 canvas backpack, and we were getting ready to depart Assisi at the close of our one and possibly / probably only visit here.
But before we do, we need to talk a little more about the basilica in Santa Maria degli Angeli...
