Never let it be said that the architect of the Galleria Umberto I relied only on the iron and glasswork of the roof to impress the eye. As you can see here, the walls are exceptionally ornate as well.
As I mentioned earlier, the 3rd level was originally intended to be (and may still be as far as I know) residential apartments. Can you imagine living here? It would be in equal parts heaven and hell.
