In the previous shot we saw the drenching that we received over several days at the end of July.
This is a late afternoon shot of the day that the rain cleared. There is something about the sky during the end of a spell of heavy rain; you can still get a sense of water continuing to hang in the air, even though the only visible sign is the occasional patchy dark cloud. As with these ones, they seem to threaten more rain but simply don't have the bulk to deliver on the threat.
The tree is of course denuded of foliage as befits the season, but being a heat-hater none of this bothers me in the least.
