The winter has been mostly dry; for June, the most recently completed month, the Bureau of Meteorology said "June rainfall was generally below average across New South Wales (by about 35%), and very much below average in the far west".
During this week of July, however, we copped a drenching stretching over many days. Inconvenient? Perhaps but hey, who's going anywhere? The rain was more than welcome.
This is the Woolworths shopping centre car park in Bulli, NSW. We're looking west toward the escarpment which normally towers over the landscape but which is today blanketed by low cloud cover.
Since I took this shot we've returned to dry, cool and sunny days. Winter in the Illawarra; I like it!
