My last few shots have mostly been weather-themed. For the moment, however, there isn't a lot of that going around. The bushfires are mostly out after about 3 months, the much needed drenching (which has lifted the overall dam level to north of 70% storage from the 30 to 40% range) has ended for now (though the grass, which has gone feral, was still too wet to mow this morning; that joyful task had to wait for the afternoon), and while there is supposedly the remains of a tropical cyclone off the coast generating "huge and dangerous seas", I wasn't seeing a lot of that when I went to Austinmer Beach this morning.

So instead, let's look at the other side of the beach where we will find an historic car; specifically an MG TF, I believe, sitting in the warm morning sun. (A sun which I had to tone down by selective colouring because the light's warm tone was too distracting given the red of the bodywork. It was either that or dummy up some bokeh.) As I drove past it on the way home I saw something which, if I recall correctly, said "TF 1957". However the TF's last hurrah was in 1955.

Interestingly the Wikipedia entry said the same thing as I was thinking; "Although the design was similar to contemporary cars of the 1930s, it came to be considered outdated by the 1950s." I thought that it was a design which looked more at home in the inter-war years.

I don't know what exact model this is (early ones had a 1250cc engine, later models a 1500cc one), but a similar 1955 1.5 litre sold in 2017 for $AU33,000.

According to the sale site, "MG's T-series Midget family began back in 1936 with the first TA and remained in production - with a break during the Second World War - until 1955, the fifth and final development being the TF launched in 1953. ... I think I'd probably rather an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (you know, solid top, air conditioning, sound system, etc) but unless my numbers come up in Lotto tonight I doubt that will happen.
