In an age where political "protest" usually takes the form of masked fascist thugs throwing concrete milkshakes at people who are not sufficiently pure of thought, it's refreshing to see 2 groups of people with completely different opinions protesting together in a civil fashion.
One group is of course vehemently pro Brexit, the other vehemently Remain. This was of course taken before Boris Johnson romped in in the "Brexit election". Yet there are people smiling, one woman in a European Union bonnet (who you may not be able to see when the picture is reduced in size for publication) is sharing a laugh with a police officer, and nobody seems to feel the need to (or see the point in) angrily hurling abuse at people on the other side of the argument and name-calling. Did any of them convince those on the other side? Unlikely. But they both had the opportunity to make their voices heard without anyone suffering harm (although one guy on the far right of the frame looks like he's trying to pretend that nothing is happening and just wants to get out of there) and that is indeed the way it should be.
