A razor sharp moon just wasn't going to happen when shooting hand-held and with this much light already in the sky.
I was damn lucky to get away with this as it is.
But in one way I was fortunate; I think a full moon would have been too much for this and a crescent moon not enough. For me the half moon hit the Goldilocks spot.
