I was shooting some seagulls taking a morning bath in the winter sun, when suddenly they scattered for no apparent reason. The reason became apparent a moment or two later as a Boxer lurched into view directly below the sandbank that I was standing on.
In fact despite it being an off leash beach the Boxer seemed uninterested in the seagulls and the mass take-off was simply a (probably wise, I'll admit) overreaction.
This shot was taken a few minutes later after he had gone down the beach a bit and was waiting to see whether his owner was dutifully following him. A moment later he swung around at full power and headed down the beach in a bounding run.
The choppy seas and mist of the winter's morning may suggest that it's cooler than it actually was; the temperature was probably in the low teens.
