To celebrate Chinese New Year, a Lunar Festival featuring Asian cuisine (which runs every night from 17:00) has been set up in Pyrmont Point Park. The red lanterns that are suspended overhead make up part of the out of focus backdrop to this.
In the foreground is an ornamental tree which, I suspect, is lit during the night to allow the light to bounce around off its translucent (probably acrylic) "leaves". Unfortunately sunset in Sydney is still around 19:30 at present so I'm either long gone by that time, or will be getting home at Midnight.
I've therefore improvised by taking a shot of the early morning sunlight which has just hit the tree shining through it.
It's arguably a job for the 60mm macro but I'm still playing around with the 40-150's many and varied capabilities at present.
