I was originally going to catch up with all my unposted PADs before posting new stuff, but I have really started to like my new OMD EM-1.
And this is why.
There's a pretty pronounced dynamic range here, and the Olympus handled it very well although I lost a substantial amount of colour in the sand. I could probably bring that back from the RAW content if I needed to but I don't think this image warrants it; it's not about the beach, it's about the Sun, the sky and the water. And the sharpness that my 12 to 40 f/2.8 pro lens managed to pull out of the water is something that I'm more than happy with.
And yes, that is the sole individual who decided to brave the icy winter winds and waves to go for a swim when I was down there this morning. In the next frame he dives straight into the water, in the one after that he's submerged, in the one after that he resurfaces.
He is either incredibly hardy, or very possibly insane.
But in terms of arrangement his dark shape and insignificant size makes an interesting counterpoint to the brightness and size of the rising Sun.
