Spring has spring (1 September in Australia) but the afternoon shadows are still long at the start of September. Each afternoon the sun cast a long, reddish light on the train bearing me home. This is, by the transport department's own admission, the most patronised train on my line.

Naturally, they axed it in the latest timetable changes, then had the bare faced gall to claim that they were improving services.
