A view across the Jamieson Valley showing some of the sandstone cliffs on the other side. Erosion of these rock formations tends to occur along planes of weakness called joints, which often occur vertically. This means that the cliff sides develop a blocky, straight edged appearance as blocks fall off along the planes.
Also visible in this shot is the five leaf water vine which helps bind the tree canopy together, making the rainforest more resistant to wind than individual trees would be.
