13520 The Alien Plant

McCauley's Beach, Thirroul, NSW

One of the weirdest growths I've seen; the stem grows out horizontally from the shore, then bends up at almost exactly 90 degrees. It's also covered by some strange buds which I'm not familiar with. If there are any botanists in the audience...?
