I originally had quite a different shot in mind for today; in fact I took it, but this one is more representative of the day so I'll save that one for later.
As you can tell from the earlier PADs this week, it's been more than a little soggy this "summer" to date. I'm grateful that it's been relatively cool, but I'd like some time to dry out.
We had a relatively brief respite today, though showers are forecast again for tomorrow. However this lunchtime it was sunny and temperate. After I'd grabbed something to eat at the cafeteria I headed down to a park by the water, and found myself a shady spot under a tree by the water, with a slight breeze blowing across. Despite the fact that I was reading a textbook on the .Net Framework at the time, it made it powerfully hard to get myself motivated to return to the office after lunch. Here, you see things from more or less my perspective as I was lying there.
When I returned, my recently-resigned assistant told me of another person in another department who has also resigned. That's four significant people in the space of two weeks, five if you count another one who's retired. It made me reflect even more about the comments in Tuesday's PAD.
